Redesign of the package - Dulcolax Drops

I participated in a contest where the goal was to redesign the package of Dulcolax Drops. The main aim was to create a visual that can be incorporated into other Dulcolax products. The colours and the location of the information as well as labels were not changed, as it will be easier for the consumer to make a transfer from the original package to the new concept. This means that Dulcolax will preserve the identity while delivering the updated version of the product that is already recognized in the market.
The product’s uniqueness and value are helping people with constipation, therefore it was logical to choose the shape of a large intestine, as this is the part of the digestive system that is affected. The illustration was made on the basis of a large intestine and would be silver foiled. This way I preserve one of the colours from the original package. Furthermore, the wavy lines reproduce the shape and contours of the colon, as well as represent the flow and increased excretion of water into the colon due to Dulcolax’s effect.
One of the main aims of the new packaging design is that it could be well incorporated into other products within the line. The Visual Key is therefore contains the products from Dulcolax line with the renewed packaging design.
I have not used all of them and just wanted to create an overall picture of how the new packaging design can look. I used the same size and information on different packages but changed the colours and shapes of illustration.
I made the illustration of the tablets based on the package from Dulcolax.no as it was easier to access this information due to the language capabilities. Overall, the illustration is versatile and can be transformed into pills, a pack of suspension or suppository. However, the main visual – colon, stays the same throughout the line. There is enough space to add extra information if needed or adjust the sizes of the illustration.
The shape of the package, text and colour scheme belongs to Dulcolax, Sanofi. It was the first time I was working with the redesigning of a package :)
